Beta testing etc. would have shown them this. The ease with which gold could be made then making items with low drop rates,
I don't remember items going above 100k in the betas

No but Anet could be able to see how easy it was for people to make gold from casual game play. Like say making 5k per hour or whatever it is questing.

15k armours which come to like 75k+ which are not even the most expensive armour sets etc.

Adding items which only dropped a few times e.g. r8 15>50 crystalline swords, dwarven axes, serpent axes, ascalon mauls, krytan axes, swamp clubs etc.

You also have to keep in mind that Anet didn't expect people to play 1000 hours of the PvE, let along the 5000+ some of us have. They expected us to spent 100-200hours in PvE then move to PvP. That didn't happen for a vast number of players hence the large amount of cash was farmed and people could sell items for 100K.

A few of you will remember that there was a rollback one of the times to reset any unfair trades when the merchants went crazy and started selling ecto/shards at 250g each.

But, not alot of people remember that when it was just prophecies there was a previous problem with the traders a couple of times when ecto and shards were very highly priced so i bet alot of the wealth has come from there too.

If you have been here since the start you may recall when there was a diffence in pricing at merchant between Europe and American servers.

This lead many, a friend of mine included, to make 100K in just 5min buy purchasing Black Dye in one and trading with somebody in international who would then sell it to merchant in the other. After they maxed out their storage with gold they bought ectos.

Yes you are right about that that it's just a game. But to know that there are people who are knowing and willing to exploit the game for there own agenda.
This makes the game less pleasant for us.
And a last thing just let this thread go to waste we will never know who still had duped stuff in the end i don't wanna know this only aggravates me more.
So as Thread maker just close it.
